Dr. Yi Jiang

Dr. Jiang grew up in the Midwest and attended University of California, Los Angeles, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then completed his medical school and ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. He also pursued further fellowship specialization in Medical Retina at the University of Kentucky and in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery at the University of Illinois, Chicago.  

Dr. Jiang is passionate about patient care, education, and research. He has volunteered at numerous outreach organizations to help provide care to under-served populations including providing free eye screenings and counseling. He obtained a grant and started a medical student run clinic that provided eye care to those without access to healthcare and medical insurance. The clinic is still running today.

He also has a strong passion for teaching ophthalmology and was named the University of Illinois Department of Ophthalmology Fellow of the Year for teaching residents about diseases of the retina during his fellowship. He also acted as Chief Resident during residency where he oversaw and taught medical students pearls of ophthalmology.

Dr. Jiang also believes that clinical research is vital to advancement in the field of ophthalmology and has published his work in various journals such as Ophthalmology, Asia-Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology, JAMA Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology Retina, Archives of Ophthalmology, Journal of Vitreoretinal Diseases and numerous others.

On a more personal level, Dr. Jiang fell in love with the diverse communities in Los Angeles and San Gabriel Valley during college at UCLA. He moved back to Los Angeles to serve these communities and also to be a part of them. He strives to provide every patient with tailored care for the best possible results, eye care education and clarity on complex medical issues.

In his spare time, Dr. Jiang likes to enjoy the outdoors and various ethnic cuisines. You can find him hiking the San Gabriel mountains, scuba diving, traveling, and shooting photography.

Dr. George Zhang

Dr. Zhang grew up in Irvine, CA and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine and went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. He then pursued subspecialty fellowship training in Vitreo-Retinal Surgery at the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit.

Dr. Zhang is dedicated to delivering high-quality, individualized care for patients with retinal diseases. His approach to patient care is rooted in communication, education, and ensuring each person feels heard and understood. During his training, he participated in outreach efforts aimed at improving access to eye care among underserved communities.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Zhang has a strong foundation in research, with experience spanning multiple disciplines. He has investigated the use of artificial intelligence in diabetic retinopathy screening in real-world clinical settings, studied cartilage changes following ACL injuries using MRI, and worked with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to evaluate digital breast tomosynthesis systems for breast cancer detection. His earlier research also explored safety thresholds in magnetic particle imaging. His work has been published in journals such as Ophthalmology, IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, JBJS Reviews, and Proceedings of SPIE.

Dr. Zhang has also been recognized for his dedication to teaching and mentorship, guiding both medical students and residents during his clinical training. He believes in fostering a strong learning environment that translates academic knowledge into meaningful patient care.

Drawn to the vibrant communities of Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley, Dr. Zhang returned to California with a mission to serve and connect with the people here. He brings a thoughtful and compassionate approach to every patient encounter, with an emphasis on providing clarity and evidence-based care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Zhang enjoys running, hiking, spending time with his family, friends, and his three dogs.
